NET Nurse Education Workshops

Last updated 21 January 2026

Neuroendocrine Cancer New Zealand has held dedicated NET nurse workshops in Auckland and Christchurch in the past.

These workshops have helped to raise the profile of neuroendocrine cancer, foster greater knowledge and involvement and helped ensure best practice care for patients with NET cancers.

Recognised for supporting the diagnosis of neuroendocrine tumours, and helping nurse participants to understand the treatments, management and latest developments in research. These events are only possible when we have sponsorship support.

Testimonials from previous attendees:

“I came to the study day with a little knowledge, I really enjoyed the day, gained more knowledge, and networked with other nurses. Attending this study day has been a positive experience and renewed my passion for caring for NET patients.”

Endocrinology nurse, Waikato Hospital

“I have learned so much from this study day. There is a lot of new information to absorb including great knowledge from the presenters from many specialties. I met many of the nurses from all over New Zealand who has so much knowledge and experience and have developed a good network as a result. After this study day I feel more confident in this topic and understand the patient pathway from diagnosis to treatment process. I feel more confident and comfortable prepping these patients into our clinics and supporting them in their journey. I found this study event was so inspiring for my nursing career."

Upper GI clinic nurse, Wellington Main Outpatient Clinic

“I see quite a lot of patients diagnosed with Neuroendocrine tumours, particularly of the pancreas. To date, my clinical knowledge regarding this type of tumour has been relatively limited, so this was a valuable opportunity to up-skill. The various workshop speakers provided an excellent overview of the different types of NETs, and the complexity of their presenting symptoms. This was a really informative workshop and I appreciated the effort made by the organisers, and the opportunity to attend.”

Cancer Nurse Coordinator, Counties Manukau Health
